Horse Racing Betting Calculator — User Guide

Overview This calculator helps you spread your stake across multiple horses in a race to minimize losses while maintaining the excitement of betting. It uses a mathematical approach called “arbitrage betting” but typically won’t guarantee a profit due to the bookmaker’s margin.

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter Your Stake
  • Default is £10.00
  • You can adjust this up or down based on your budget
  • This is the total amount you’ll be betting across all horses

2. Enter Horse Information

  • Add details for exactly 6 horses
  • For each horse you need:
  • Horse Name
  • Betting Odds in X:Y format (e.g., 6:1, 3:1, etc.)

Common odds examples:

  • Favorite: 2:1 to 4:1
  • Mid-range: 5:1 to 12:1
  • Longshots: 15:1 to 50:1

3. Calculate Bets

  • Once all 6 horses are entered, click “Calculate Bets”
  • The system will show you how much to bet on each horse

Mathematical Insight

The calculator uses implied probabilities to distribute your stake proportionally. For example:

  • Odds of 2:1 imply a 33.3% chance of winning
  • Odds of 4:1 imply a 20% chance of winning
  • The system adjusts these probabilities to ensure proportional betting.

Remember: It is not a profit-making system, and you should always gamble responsibly and within your means.
