Schools need to return to an idea of making us think about what WE want to achieve and use tools and technology to achieve it.

Let's say we want to build a sandcastle. Teachers should encourage children to go to a tools cupboard and chose the tools themselves. If they choose a stick they might not build a sandcastle but a sand moat but the castle becomes the higher ground.

If we keep giving children plastic spades to solve a problem then the answers will all come out the same.
