This weekend I've been working thru my app bucket list using claude 3.5 sonnet (new). On the first attempt it had a working version. Imagine if when I was a teenager I could have asked it to build some app, game or device I imagined and 30 seconds later there it is.

One idea I had 40 years ago but could never actualise - whereas CS3.5 did it in 30 seconds.

In terms of wasted energy I spent an entire Christmas in a bedroom trying to work the idea out. I could have been having fun instead. AI took 30 seconds. Imagine my version 2 -a week later and so on each taking just 30 seconds.

After my son was born I felt compelled to develop something to be successful. i spent months in a bedroom with a baby often screaming to be fed. The night shift was my turn. Just when I thought I had success with a deal the company went bust. I had wasted 6 months whereas with AI I would have had it developed after a week. The product would have been in the shops after a month. A fully developed version with a guide. I might have saved their company. AI - a stitch in time saves nine?

Humans waste more energy not solving a problem. Think of all the drafts printed and thrown away.

If you think - well all I had to do was eat a McD to program - and not burn watts - you've ignored the cow that was killed and store that stayed open 24x7 just so you could eat.
