Your 'follow me' image was very similar to an image I used for a Twitter account around 2012. It was on old V1 Twitter and I could automate searching Twitter for Follow & RT competitions. The account automatically RT'd the competitions and the followers grew almost exponentially. I showed my success to some Latvian developers and we signed a deal to sell advertising in the white space available on Twitter - like classified ads. Then 2 bad things happened:

1. Twitter changed to V2.

2. Someone complained 'incorrectly' to Twitter I was gaming competitions to win. I was the only person 'not following' so I couldn't win - I was simply auto RT'ing. But Twitter suspended the account - killing the advertising deal and a Twitter account with a projected exponential growth.

V2 killed the idea forever.

Actually I did win pens. The owner of a site sent me pens. Perhaps their competition had a lot of publicity and orders via my growing Twitter account.
